A sensational little reed diffuser / vase created from a piece of upcycled glass. A unique sunflower design that has been carved free-handed (meaning more focus on texture and its transition into shape next to shape, and less focus on smoothness of shapes and crispness of lines.) I used multiple shades of metallic wax finish to accentuate the sunflower. I really like using this type of finish because it adds so much character to the piece. Light shining directly through the piece washes out the color for a distressed look, whereas when the light dims the colors emerge, emphasizing the carving. I chose a Gold Leaf for the petals, a Spanish Copper for the seeds, and finally an Olive Gold for the stem and leaves. Another one of our useful, but artsy pieces that never seem to go out of style.
Reed Diffuser / Vase measures: approximately 4 1/4″ wide x 5″ high, with removable lid. Fragrance or Flowers not included.
Would you be more likely to use this piece as a vase or as a reed diffuser? Would appreciate any comments or feedback. How did our photos turn out? Just click Comments at the bottom and tell us what you think.
